Absztrakt

Political Theatre
During the period of the established totalitarian dictatorship, the communist ideology created the general framework to which the theatre of the time had to adapt, in which the theatres lived alongside the system, served it, cooperated with it, resisted it with various techniques or simply tried to survive it. The ideological and political frameworks determined the possibilities of cultural life. The theatre therefore had to respond to these challenges indirectly or directly. The ideology of the dictatorship was present in the life of theatres in the most diverse ways: propaganda, censorship, controlled repertoire, direct intervention, content requirements, etc. The task of the communist party organizations, which were mandatorily organized and operated within most institutions, was to directly present the dominant ideology in these given institutions. In this paper, we publish a document – an annual report of the communist party organization existing in the theatre of Sfântu Gheorghe – that highlights the open presence of ideology in theatre.
